Stem Deck offers outstanding playtime and has a 7″ touchscreen with an expandable I/O, Hi-Fi audio with built-in speakers, wireless Bluetooth, and onboard. Several hours’ worth of playtime for most of the games is promised by 40 watt-hour battery. Maximum battery life of 7-8 hours can be expected for lighter usage like game streaming, smaller 2D games, or web browsing.
Stem Deck consists of customized APU, optimized for handheld gaming, created by Valve by partnering with AMD. It is a Zen 2 plus RDNA 2, delivering excellent output to run the latest Triple-A games in very effective power consumption.
Every Stem Deck offers the same power: 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and an AMD APU containing a quad-core Zen 2 CPU with eight threads and eight computing units worth of AMD RDNA 2 graphics.
There are three different storage levels available,64GB, 256GB, or 512GB NVMe SSD. For more space to store more games, you can expand the storage via microSD on any of the models.
Inbuilt mics, a gyroscope for motion controls, and a battery with great playtime are other features.
The Stem Deck is a handheld device that can play any game in your Steam library. It is just not a gaming console but a portable PC. You can plug it into a monitor/TV, install apps and software, use it to watch streaming video, do much more. You can even install other store games into it.
The Stem Deck will run on a new version of SteamOS, which is Valve’s Linux-based operating system. You can install Windows by uninstalling SteamOS.
The Stem Deck has USB-C ports that contain HDMI, Ethernet, and USB data, and Bluetooth.
Two thumbsticks and 2 Controller-style trackpads under the thumbstick are provided that imitate the mouse-like experience. ABXY buttons and a D-pad are given on the front of the handheld machine. It comes with two shoulder triggers on each side, and there are four back buttons for more options.
More advanced users can use Steam Deck as a well-developed Linux computer. Valve says you will be able to plug in a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. PC software can be installed on it; you can browse the web and access other game stores. It allows syncing of files between devices with cloud saves. It also has a suspend or resume feature to force the device into sleep mode.
